RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN SCHOOL MATHEMATCS' ROLES AND RELATIONS
Oplæg af Mette Andresen på NoGSME ph.d. sommerskole 22.-26. sep 2009.
Abstract:
The enrolment of mathematics in a new construct, multi-disciplinarity, was recently introduced into Danish upper secondary schools.
This talk presents a Danish research and development project, now running in upper secondary.
The project deals with mathematics in multi-disciplinary teaching projects with three other faculties: human sciences, societal sciences and natural sciences, and its aim is to inquire how learning potential in mathematics is realised in a number of cases of good practice.
Teaching materials for such projects are one of the outcomes of this collaborative project between Danish Science Gymnasiums (DASG) and the National Centre of Knowledge about Mathematics Education (NAVIMAT). During the talk, examples from the pilot will be presented and their learning potentials discussed.
The talk is based on my presentation at the ICTMA14 in Hamburg this summer and on a contribution to the 'Nordic Sourcebook', prepared by me and Lena Lindenskov in collaboration.
